We live in times of transformation
HOW DO WE ENGAGE IN PURPOSEFUL COLLABORATIONS TO ACHIEVE DEEP AND LASTING CHANGE?
"What is possible in Egypt, if we explore and share the individual and collective practices and techniques that support building purposeful collaborations to achieve deep and lasting change?” We invite you to the Collaboration Learning Lab - a space where over a period of time we can create greater impact through collaboration. We will begin this journey with a 4-day experience of the Art of Hosting Collaboration - a time of exchanging, exploring and learning different collaboration tools and methods that will improve the impact of our work individually and collectively.
why a collaboration learning lab?We live in a time of transformation where the old models no longer serve our evolving realities and circumstances. It is clear that these life conditions are interconnected and that solving one problem at a time will not create the difference needed today. There is an urgent need for new social, economic and environmental systems to be designed. To deal with this complexity, we need to give time to discover together new ways and approaches. We need to transition from individuals and organizations to ecosystems and movements. This transition requires a mindset shift, an evolution in consciousness and, therefore, new types of co-existence and collaboration.
Today in Egypt, many inspiring examples of grassroots initiatives and community-driven activities have been created, as well as examples of cooperation between different actors (corporates & NGOs, engineers and social activists, artists and urban planners, etc.) working together to achieve a wider impact. Nevertheless, many of these efforts stay isolated, and their impact usually does not scale up. To achieve systemic change, we need to create synergies, to learn across sectors and to create shared purpose. We see the Art of Collaboration as vital to systemic change and this is why we want to explore ways in which purposeful collaboration can occur, as well as some of the significant barriers to achieving it. The shift in mindset is the cornerstone of this systemic change, hence the need for a shift in the worldview of people across different sectors to enable this synergized transition to ecosystem approach rather than the existing organizational and individualistic approach. The Collaboration Learning Lab is intended as a learning, prototyping and scaling up space where over the course of a period of time we can exchange existing knowledge, yet at the same time experiment and prototype new innovative practices and tools to create greater impact for Egypt. To begin the journey, we are creating a 4-day learning and innovation training - the Art of Hosting Collaboration. |
